so fox is a heath nut.
he always has been.
when we celebrated our first easter together
he made me an easter basket
and
filled it with health bars instead of the sugar coated marshmallow peeps
that i wanted.
he does crossfit and crazy work out plans
as i sit on the couch and eat my bon-bons.
okay not really.
but i don't participate in his workouts.
when i lay in bed at night
i see myself working out in my head.
but come morning time
i would much rather sleep until the very last second
before having to get up and run the household.
in other words
i'm lazy.
fox purchased a book called the 4-hour body.
he's been asking me for awhile to commit to this healthy plan with him
as i'm stuffing my face with junk food.
sure i want to be healthy and fit.
i just don't want to do the hard work to get there.
again, i'm lazy.
i am finally ready to commit to his healthy plan for us.
we will be doing this for 5 weeks.
yesterday was day 1.
when i committed, i did so blindly.
i just thought fine what the heck, i'll do it.
i didn't think it would be that hard.
i figured it was just going to be portion control.
but nope.
wrong.
dead wrong.
check out the only things i'm allowed to eat.
imagine my horror!
no sugar.
no pasta.
no fruit.
no flour.
no dairy.
in translation this means
no soda
no cookies
no spaghetti
no milk
no cereal
no apples
no bread
no pizza
no pizza
no pizza
no pizza
no pizza
{can you tell pizza is my favorite food}
no cheese
no yogurt
no rice
ugh...basically anything that i want to eat, i'm no longer allowed to eat it.
yesterday my stomach was in shock
and
i had a headache from coke-withdrawal.
i don't even think i could bite off a fingernail and eat it.
i know it will take me about a week to get my body use to my diet change.
cheers to getting healthy.
wish me luck!

This would drive me crazy! If I know I can't eat something, I'll crave it....and then go way overboard when I get my hands on it. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOh! Good luck. I don't know what I'd do about breakfast, I'm very much an oatmeal/pastry/cereal kind of person. As much as I love meat, I need my carbs too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!!! I am the exact same way, I eat cheetos and candy on the sofa as my husband is counting calories and eating egg whites!
ReplyDeletethat would drive me nuts. I think I would have agreed to working out first.... lol. I wish the best of luck though!
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part for me would be having all those foods I couldn't have in the house for the kids- and me not being able to eat them. I am doing so well now because if I don't buy it I can't eat it. You've totally got this! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteg;luck! i've been trying to get back to the whole workout and being health, but the couch looks so much better :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck, chickadee!! The no fruit thing would suck for me, but I know you can do it!!
ReplyDeleteHow come you can't have fruit? ...or yogurt?
ReplyDeleteI feel hungry just looking at your list of things you can eat! Good luck! :D
ReplyDeleteMy husband went on a vegan kick for a few months. We sometimes still eat vegan meals, but it's too hard daily- I love dairy too much! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard for the first week, but as your body gets used to the diet, you'll find that your blood sugar is way more stable. If you need a "snack", try roasting chickpeas that have been tossed in some olive oil, basil, and oregano. And see if you can pick up Dr. Neal Barnard's "Get Healthy, Go Vegan" cookbook. There are lots of good recipes in there that follow the guidelines you have.
Good luck! :)
We eat a pretty clean diet, but recently my husband has started thinking about the Paleo diet... I don't want to give up my bread! I don't eat a whole lot of it, but I want the option! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteKudos! I could NEVER give up pasta. Ever. I rather just stick to portion control. Which explains why I have trouble toning my body.
ReplyDeleteOMG, so what exactly are you supposed to eat?! I'm having a hard enough time trying to figure out what to eat with this gestational diabetes. Geesh!! Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteIt's like fasting. You don't really want to, your body doesn't want to, but you try it anyway. By the end of the first week, you decide that your migraine will last forever and you'll never be happy without pizza.
ReplyDeleteKidding! Best of luck to you. It gets easier :D
Ah, good luck! I remember feeling like this when I did a no carb diet a few years back. How are you going to take pasta and bread away from an Italian girl?!
ReplyDeleteYikes, I couldn't handle that!
ReplyDeleteGood luck. Sounds really hard!
ReplyDeleteI understand eating healthy but if you practice portion control you will be just fine. That's what we do :) Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness! That's crazy!!! I know you posted a week 1 update so I'm going to go read that now!
