Today is a super special day in our house.
Today our baby boy turns 2 whole big years young!
I feel like the last 2yrs have just flown by us.
In the course of his young life
we have gone through many different nicknames for Evan.
When he was just an itty bitty baby
we would call him
silver back gorilla
because he had a hairy back as a newborn.
But
our favorite nickname for him was
Muppet
or
Beaker
because
when he would cry
his bottom lip would pucker out like Beaker from the Muppet's.
By the time Evan was a whole year young
he had changed in his look so much
as did his nicknames.
By then we were calling him
Sumo
or
Monster
{note my first fondant cake I had ever made}
Now our little dare devil is 2 years old today!
How did that happen?
He has so much personality
and
keeps our whole family entertained.
Evan now goes by
Griblet
Moco-choo
or
Moco-moo
these days.
He is seriously a crazy stuntman.
Now this little heathen likes to lock himself into the bathroom
and
play in the toilet bowl water
with his bath toys
trying to transform the floor into a pool
while laughing at me
as I am on the opposite side of the door
trying to unlock the door with a bobby pin.
But
I would say his favorite thing to do now
is to open his bedroom door at night and escape his bedroom
playing hide-n-go-seek by himself
instead of sleeping.
Ian
{my soon to be 6yr old}
recently told me
that the best gift that we have ever given him
was his baby brother.
That's the kind of love that Evan has surrounding him everyday.
Happy 2nd Birthday sweet baby boy of mine!
And
now onto my song choice for this week's song link-up.
I picked this song
because
Fox isn't here to celebrate Evan's birthday with us
and
it makes me smile whenever I hear it
thinking of
Evan
and
his years to come with his daddy.
*Pure sweetness.

ReplyDeleteAwww, happy birthday to sweet little Evan! Have you ever read the book "Love You Forever"? my son's favorite part is the page where the little boy is two and it shows him throwing his mother's watch into the toilet. I haven't read it in a couple years, but that image totally popped into my head as I read your description of your little "heathen". Ha ha ha!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your boy!
